A Note to Everyone:
To other multiples, I hope that this page will be a resource, a way for you to know that you are not alone. I remember what it was like in the beginning, feeling crazy and wondering if anyone else felt like I did. And I know now that I still need others. I need to ask questions of people who have dealt with it longer than I have. You are not alone, and there is hope.
I hope that this site will also be a resource for all those who want to know more about DID/MPD. Whether you are a support person for someone with DID, the significant other of someone with it, or someone wanting to understand more about this amazing survival skill, I hope you'll find the information that you are looking for.
My goal when I first began work on "All of the Pieces" was to rebuild communication with the others inside. Due to extreme circumstances, I was walled off from everyone else inside. I hoped that by giving everyone the opportunity to build a page to express their own unique personalities, we might start tearing the walls back down again. As the site progressed, I was inspired to do more. Over the past 8 years, I have sought help from many places. I decided to share the resources that I had gathered, including links for littles, tweens and teens, information about coping skills and safety, a list of inpatient units in the United States that treat DID, and resources for friends, family, and significant others of multiples. As a system, we have also created a lot of art, poetry, and creative writing. I hoped to be able to share our work, and eventually add work from other survivors as well. As my dreams grew, the site grew.
UPDATE: The Twins now have a page of their own. More pages for those in our system are also on the way because many inside still aren't represented here. I now have a digital camera and hope to add more artwork to the site soon. I also plan to add more of our poetry and creative writing. I will continue to research and update the links to bring you the best possible resources and information, so check back often.
